2023 Teravana Ecology Program Impact Highlights

Our 2023 projects have been about planting seeds—both literally and figuratively—that will continue to grow, strengthen our communities, and honor our relationship with the Earth.

Tree Nursery

The team built a 1,500 sq. ft. outdoor shade tree nursery, now home to over 1,000 trees, ready to be planted and nurtured. Our reforestation efforts look at the entire ecosystem, from improving water flow and retention, to enabling ecological succession of flora and fauna with human care.

40000

Trees planted in California & Guatemala in the last two years

Once these trees are fully grown,
they will sequester over 13 million tons of carbon.

Teravana operates a sister organization, Wellkind Guatemala, which they also manage.

Here at Teravana, we are developing an opportunity to demonstrate holistic land stewardship practices with a theory of change that humans can play a positive role in evolving systems that enable the regeneration of forests. By shifting our thinking, and working with the existing elements on this land, we aim to develop community resilience through demonstrating ecological resilience, and regenerating this pattern of learning.
